Greetings your Eminence and fellow AFC Family!
This is the first week of the fourth and final Term for this academic Year 2021. The one week break was timely as all of us needed to recuperate!
For us the Marist Fathers, it's the normal time for our annual retreat. We had our retreat at Lilo, Veitongo and we thoroughly enjoyed the solitude & tranquility there.
Apparently, some of us needed to beef up while others need to slim down! Unfortunately, you can't help it when the food is yummy and inviting!!
At the first assembly on Tuesday, the Form 7 led the prayers creatively with their songs and skit. It was encouraging also to see the good turn out of students on the first week of school back from the holiday.
The exams' students resume their afternoon study. Seen here in the photo below are the teachers serving the light refreshments for the students before they hit the classrooms from 4 - 6 PM.
Climate Change Week
To show solidarity with the nation in the campaign against the destruction of the natural environment, the whole college wore red to school yesterday. You can see a sea of red everywhere at the school's compound. I remember the Marist Brothers' High School in Suva whose chant was always "Red Fire"!
A few of our students are in the Speech competition. Our school choir will take part in the competition this evening. We wish them all the best!
The Levels 5 & 6 put on a spectacular performance last night in the Music Festival organized by the Music Dept. This was to coincide with the assessments of some of our students' IA. We're indeed grateful to Lord Ve'ehala who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The audience were awed by the musical talents of the students.
The teachers resumed their Zumba session on Monday! Evidently, after the one week break all the staff have put on an extra kg!
The teachers and students have been informed during the assembly that the focus for this Term 4 is preparation for the exams.
May I acknowledge once again all the prayers and support for our annual retreat, as we continue to seek your support in these remaining weeks prior to the exams.
