College Updates: Week 5 - Term 3

Over the weekend, we were struck with a mighty blow that crippled us to the bones. The tragic news of the untimely passing of our beloved student, Kelekolio Vete, felt like a turbulent wind that somehow wobbled our Apifo'ou boat.

This young man was in the making to be a responsible and caring young person. He was elected to be a Prefect for the second half of this year. He was a key player in our Grade 3 rugby team that will play in the semifinal today against 'Atele.

What a loss and frankly, we're lost for words! Today the college celebrated Mass to honor the legacy of this gentle giant with a warm smiling face. Tomorrow, the college will form a guard of honor from his home to the Free Wesleyan Church here at Ma'ufanga to be led by the school's Brass Band.

Kelekolio Vete is the son of Savelio Vete who is himself an ex-student of the college. His beloved wife and a few from the family were present at Mass today. Yesterday, the level 4 students plus the Grade 3 and the Prefects, accompanied by the teachers, took our 'Hala' or 'Reguregu' in Fijian to the bereaved family.

Conclusion

This update is just to cover the funeral of our beloved student, Kelekolio Vete. May he rest in the peace of Christ with divine consolation upon his mum & grieving family.
