College Updates: Week 5 - Term 4

Salutation

Greetings your Eminence and fellow AFC Family!

Admin Briefs

This is week 5 and the final exams for all Forms are ongoing. The levels 5 & 6 will complete theirs this Friday while the rest will continue for another week. The teachers are focusing on the markings and supervision. Below are the Level 4 students embarking on their final exams.

Some classes are seeking divine intervention before they begin their exams!

It's encouraging to see students not only eager to sit the exams but are also complying with all the regulations in the exams' room.

Religious Education Week

The RE Week last week concluded with the students from Levels 1 to 4 presenting items that they have prepared. The five Forms in Level 1 dramatized the 5 Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary. Their command of English and their confidence in public speaking were very impressive. We congratulate the RE teachers for the wonderful efforts put into this program.

2nd round of consultation re vaccination against Corona

Last week Drs. Ofa Tukua & Toakase conducted the second round of consultation at the college. It is envisaged that vaccinations of students aged 12 - 17 will begin soon.

Different Alumni Groups

There's a new surge of life from different Alumni Groups, both local and abroad. This is a good sign as more ex-students are coming on board to assist the college.

We're honored to highlight in this week's updates the former Head Prefects of St. John's & St. Mary's back in 1977, as seen here below.

Stella Maris Notice Board

There was excitement on the faces of the Stella Maris group as the roofing for the project was completed on Tuesday. We're indeed grateful to 'Alisi Tatafu, Malia Nive, Nanuma Fa'asolo, Sione Tatafu, and others for the great efforts put into their project.

Sincere Sympathy

We extend our heartfelt condolences to families of ex-students who passed away this week. On Tuesday His Eminence presided over the funeral Mass for the late Mr. Hanisi Fakahua. On Monday at the Basilica, Fr. Loni Mafi celebrated the burial Mass for Sione 'Ahohako. May they all rest in the peace of Christ.

Conclusion

May I extend to you all our sincere gratitude for your continuous support and prayers for our beloved college. Please continue to pray for the students as they wrap up their final exams.

Viva AFC!
