Greetings your Eminence and fellow Apifo'ou Family!
I beg your kind consideration as I'm the bearer of sad news in this brief update. It is with profound regret and heavy heart that I inform you all of the untimely passing of a true son of St. John's High School and Apifo'ou College. The late Paku Tausinga received his call to eternal rest yesterday after battling with a short illness. According to his son, Sione Tausinga, Paku was gracious in his dying moments before he peacefully breathed his last.
Due to the restrictions from COVID-19 I managed to see the family briefly this morning and offer our heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Apifo'ou Family. I'll join the Vicar General tomorrow morning at 6 AM for a Para-Liturgy at their family home. The body of the late Paku Tausinga will then be taken to Takaunove Cemetry where he'll be buried together with his beloved wife, the late Mrs. Lose Tausinga.
To Sione, Peta, Katalina, and the rest of the family, the whole Apifo'ou Family is united with you all in mourning the passing of your beloved Dad. He was exceptional and exemplary as a student. Moreover, he was outstanding and witty as a teacher.
For those of you who have studied, taught, and journeyed together with the late Paku Tausinga, you would reminisce the colourful and unique character of this real gentleman. Frankly, we'll sorely miss his jokes and smiling face.
Folau a 'Emanuele Paku Tausinga pea ke toka ai pe he fiemalie 'a e 'Eiki.
